Vi Free Data Offer 2026: How to Get 1GB Daily Data for 7 Days
Vodafone Idea (Vi) is surprising its users with a "Special Gift" this March. Several users have reported receiving a notification regarding a Free 1GB Daily Data credit for a week.
If you are a Vi user, here is everything you need to know about this offer and how to check if you have received it.
The Offer Details
Based on recent user notifications, Vi is crediting free data to select prepaid numbers to keep them connected.
- Benefit: 1GB high-speed data per day.
- Validity: 7 Days from the date of credit.
- Total Data: 7GB total data over the week.
- Condition: This is a user-specific promotional offer and may not be available to all subscribers.
How to Check if You Got the "Vi Special Gift"
You can verify if this data has been added to your account using these three methods:
1. Check Your SMS
Look for a message from "ViCARE" (sent around 8:00 PM) stating: "Vi special gift: We have credited Free 1GB daily data for 7 days on your number!"
2. Vi App
Open the official Vi app on your smartphone. Go to the 'Active Packs' or 'Data Usage' section to see if there is an active "Gift" pack.
3. USSD Code
Dial *199# from your Vi SIM and check your balance and active plan details.
Why is Vi Giving Free Data?
This move is likely aimed at customer retention. As seen in the notification, Vi mentions: "Please recharge within 7 days to stay connected." This suggests the offer is primarily being sent to users whose current packs are about to expire or have already expired. It acts as a "grace period" to ensure you have internet access while you decide on your next recharge plan.
Tech Aman’s Take: Should You Wait for the Gift?
While 1GB/day is a fantastic bonus, remember that this is an automated promotional gift. If you haven't received the SMS, don't let your primary plan lapse if you rely on your data for work or studies.
Pro Tip: If you do receive this gift, use it to browse the latest Vi Hero Unlimited plans, which offer "Binge All Night" (unlimited data from 12 AM to 6 AM) for better long-term value.
